Hard Surface Modeling | Mad Max Concept Art
Actually, this is my first 3D hard-surface modeling project, and I’ve done it in collaboration with my friend, Arian Azarasa. I’m not going to leave my 2D work and motion graphics, but nowadays, I’m just trying something in different fields of CG arts to be sure what I want to do. So, it’s just for practice. About the project: My friend and I considered this artwork just as a teamwork practice for our university 3D modeling project with no specific goals. We had to model something, and since we’re both extremely interested in cars, we decided to model something cool! We fell in love with the "Mad Max: Fury Road" movie’s car style! Strong stuff and car body elements, they were everything we wanted to make. So, we chose two French cars: Peugeot 205 and Citroën Xantia. First, we modeled the basic versions of those two cars in Rhinoceros, and then we designed some details. We also modeled a garage as the environment. The Citroën Xantia was modeled in subdivision. Peugeot 205 was modeled in NURBS. All objects were modeled by ourselves in Rhinoceros, and our focus was only on hard-surface modeling. Since we had no previous experience in 3D work, we didn’t do anything about the textures and used BlenderKit for materials and some textures. The topology is a bit irregular, and the polygon count is not very optimal in general. Finally, the camera animation, materialization, and rendering were done in Blender (Cycles engine). Due to the close deadline and lack of time, we couldn’t render with high samples, and unfortunately, the result is very noisy :) ▫️Vehicle and Environment Modeling, Materialization & Animation: Arian Azarasa 📧 E-mail: arianaz.graphist@gmail.com ▫️Vehicle Modeling, Rendering & Video Editing: Mehdi Fazeli 📧 E-mail: mahdi.fazeli.cg@gmail.com Tell me your thoughts in the comments!
